Even though the Temecula Prep Patriots scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Citrus Hill Hawks still came out on top. Everything went Citrus Hill's way against Temecula Prep as Citrus Hill made off with a 80-55 win.
Citrus Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kannon Steward led the charge by scoring 23 points along with seven steals and six assists. Steward has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Roland Thibodeaux, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Citrus Hill's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Temecula Prep, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Citrus Hill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Santa Rosa Academy at 9:30 a.m. on January 6th. Santa Rosa Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Temecula Prep, they will be playing at home against Cornerstone Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Cornerstone Christian and five for Temecula Prep.
