The East Moline United Panthers will take on the Sherrard Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Moline United 3.7, Sherrard 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Thursday, East Moline United got the win against Quincy by a conclusive 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Samantha Verstraete made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Miah Berhenke was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mea Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.
East Moline United always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy only posted an OBP of .267.
Meanwhile, Sherrard has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.96 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against Riverdale, falling 15-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.
Sherrard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savanah Hauger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Hauger has snagged this season.
Sherrard has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season. As for East Moline United, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. East Moline United hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Sherrard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
