The Calvary Christian Lions came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 64-40 margin over Dunellen. Calvary Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Several Destroyers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Hutchins, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Hutchins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamael Davis, who scored ten points.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Dunellen, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Calvary Christian will head out on the road to face off against South Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Amboy and Calvary Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Dunellen, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Highland Park at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Highland Park is ranked 368th, while Dunellen is ranked 343rd).
