The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Calhoun in their matchups with Yutan: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Fort Calhoun lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bria Bench. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Bouwman, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Fort Calhoun struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fort Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Yutan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Calhoun will be home for the holidays to greet Bancroft-Rosalie on Saturday. Bancroft-Rosalie will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Yutan will be home for the holidays to greet Conestoga at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Yutan is ranked 35th).
