Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anahuac). Everything went their way against the Warren Warriors on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-3 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Kaitlynn McDaniel made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Brecken Wilpitz was a standout: she scored four runs and stole five bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Keeley Butler, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Anahuac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Anahuac is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-2 record this season.
