Lincoln will challenge Sweet Springs/Malta Bend on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lincoln ultimately got the result it was hoping for last week. They were able to grind out a solid win over Windsor, winning 19-12. Junior Bo Kroenke and junior Nate Hesse were among the main playmakers for Lincoln as the former passed for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter caught passes for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 15 tackles Hesse was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, after a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Sweet Springs/Malta Bend were humbled. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-40 punch to the gut against University Academy Charter.
Lincoln's victory lifted them to 3-1 while Sweet Springs/Malta Bend's loss dropped them down to 2-2. We'll find out if Lincoln can add another positive mark to their record or if Sweet Springs/Malta Bend can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Lincoln's step.
