They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-45 walloping at the hands of Aliceville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greene County in their matchups with Aliceville: they've now lost six in a row.
Lester Scott put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Michael Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Greene County were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Marion on Thursday, taking the game 51-42.
Greene County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Greene County came out on top in a nail-biter against Tuscaloosa Academy in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 41-38. Will Greene County repeat their success, or does Tuscaloosa Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
