Berthoud hasn't had much luck against Thompson Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Berthoud sitting on 14 straight wins dating back to last season and Thompson Valley on three.

Berthoud won the last time they faced Roosevelt and Bella Shelton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Roughriders 3-2 for which the team can thank Shelton, who had 28 digs and four assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 11.1 digs per game.
Berthoud had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 15-10.
Addison Patinella and Kyndall Viegut were among the main playmakers for Berthoud as the former had ten digs and the latter had 12 kills, five digs, and one block. That's the most digs Viegut has posted over her last six matchups.
Berthoud was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Thompson Valley blew past Wellington 3-0.
The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-15, 26-24.
Berthoud's record is now 13-0. As for Thompson Valley, their record now sits at 8-4.
Berthoud was able to grind out a solid victory over Thompson Valley when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
