Solorio is 3-0 against Hancock since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Solorio Sun Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Hancock Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Solorio comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Solorio came up short against Catalyst-Maria and fell 30-18. While losing is never fun, Solorio can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while Catalyst-Maria is ranked 232nd).
Even though Hancock has not done well against Bowen recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Hancock enjoyed a cozy 26-9 win over Bowen. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hancock.
Solorio's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hancock, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Solorio came out on top in a nail-biter against Hancock when the teams last played back in March of 2021, sneaking past 30-27. Does Solorio have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hancock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
