The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.
Will Meyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meyer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Will Goulet was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those triples were his first of the season. Malachi Quinn was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, North County entered their game against Severna Park on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. North County fell just short of Severna Park by a score of 8-7.
North County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Henry, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Henry has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Nic Burton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
North County's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Annapolis, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
