Softball Recap: Paulding Wins Going Away Against Holgate

Paulding never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Holgate Tigers as they made off with a 12-0 victory. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Paulding let Cadence Schwab and Brooklynn Bakle run wild. Schwab scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Bakle fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs Schwab has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marley Parrett, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Paulding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holgate only posted an OBP of .053.

Paulding's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holgate, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paulding will head out to square off against Tinora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holgate, they will venture away from home to challenge Gorham Fayette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
