The Roosevelt Rough Riders were the 55-43 winner over the Barberton Magics when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Roosevelt took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barberton on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Barberton is ranked 112th).
Several Rough Riders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Foreman, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foreman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Helton, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Barberton, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Copley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Copley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Barberton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Highland at 7:30 p.m. Highland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
