Brookfield won against Shepaug Valley last Friday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Bobcats walked away with a 9-6 win over the New Fairfield Rebels. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jack Murray made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Murray was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Murray wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt McDowell, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI McDowell has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Ponte also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Brookfield's record is now 4-0. As for New Fairfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield will face off against Xavier at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Fairfield, they will take on New Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Green Wave's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
