It was a good run, but The Sycamore Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 22-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morris. Sycamore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Morris apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Jacob Swartz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Morris, rushing for 227 yards and a touchdown. Swartz was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Jack Wheeler did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Morris, their victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sycamore will take on Evergreen Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evergreen Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Sycamore is ranked 32nd). As for Morris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tinley Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tinley Park will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
