On Tuesday, the 'Iolani Raiders faced the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. 'Iolani fell just short of Mid-Pacific Institute by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (55), 'Iolani still had to take the loss.
Mid-Pacific Institute's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Mason, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bow, who scored 13 points.
'Iolani has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, their victory bumped their record up to 11-16.
'Iolani will head out on the road to challenge Kamehameha Kapalama at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kamehameha Kapalama has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they will be playing at home against Punahou at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Punahou is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
