The Victoria West Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victoria West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Victoria West got the win against Fort Bend Marshall by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Isabella Medina looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Kendall Marshall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Emma Martinez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated entered their tilt with Victoria East on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Titans. Six seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kailey Quinn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubree Jones, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Terra Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Lamar Consolidated's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Victoria West, their record is now 14-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Victoria West hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lamar Consolidated struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Victoria West's way against Lamar Consolidated in their previous meeting back in March, as Victoria West made off with a 12-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
