The biggest upset of the week belonged to Syosset, who took down 342nd ranked Kennedy, 7-0.
Valley Stream Central moved up to 361 from 434 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 8 Conference I. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of a 27-0 win over Hicksville.
Oceanside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Capone threw for 233 and two touchdowns and Anthony Pintabona had 192 yards receiving. On the ground Capone chipped in 159 yards. Timmy Nolan helped Oceanside's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
The Sailors' Capone and Pintabona have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Capone has thrown for 1004 yards this season, while Pintabona, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 29 catches for 522 yards. Farmingdale's Curtis Jenkins leads the league in rushing yards with 625.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Dalers take on East Meadow. As it stands, Farmingdale is in second, while the Jets are in third.
Oceanside extended the longest winning streak in Section 8 Conference I this week by beating Massapequa, 28-24. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
