Blue Ridge had to suffer through a rough 48-18 loss at the hands of Fisher. Blue Ridge has struggled against Fisher recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Melina Luyando continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fisher, scoring 22 points along with three steals. The game was Luyando's third in a row with at least ten points. Jenna Clemmons was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Blue Ridge bumped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Fisher, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will take on Villa Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fisher, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 5:30 p.m. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fisher in Illinois (Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley is ranked 101st, while Fisher is ranked 381st).
