Basketball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Skates Past Highland Prep West with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glendale Prep Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Highland Prep West HORNETS 81-13. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

It was another big night for Senna Smith, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Addie Janssen was another key player, going 8 of 14 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Glendale Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

Glendale Prep Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Highland Prep West, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Glendale Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-15 win against Scottsdale Christian Academy on the 11th. Highland Prep West has also already played their next game, a 77-14 defeat against Mohave Accelerated on the 13th.
