Hilton Head Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jason Britschge, who scored four points along with four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ben Frey, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Hilton Head Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Hilton Head Prep's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Hammond, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Hilton Head Prep will head out on the road to face off against Hilton Head Island at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hilton Head Island is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Hammond will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lower Richland at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th.
