The Centennial Stars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mifflin Punchers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Centennial, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 658th, while the Panthers are ranked 318th).
Meanwhile, Mifflin suffered a tough 64-39 loss at the hands of the Bears on Saturday. Mifflin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bj Woody, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tariq Johnson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Centennial has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Mifflin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Centennial ended up a good deal behind the Punchers when the teams last played back in January, losing 65-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mifflin's John Glover, who scored 25 points along with four steals. Now that Centennial knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
