Burbank Gets a Boost from Hernandez in 27-7 Victory
Starting off the list is Burbank's Keven Hernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hernandez rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Hernandez must have Jefferson's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Hernandez last faced the Mustangs back in October of 2023, he threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Underclassman Mivieon Franklin Ross Major Player in Sam Houston Victory
While it always takes a team to win, one person punching above their weight class on Saturday was Mivieon Franklin Ross. He was unstoppable, rushing for 135 yards on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 55 yards and a touchdown.
The victory got Sam Houston back to even at 3-3. Franklin Ross and Sam Houston will challenge Lanier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Israel Zapata Makes It Two for Burbank
Another Burbank player making an appearance on this list is Israel Zapata. He picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 62 yards.
Jefferson had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Zapata it was a similar story. When Zapata last faced the Mustangs back in October of 2023, he picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
