Rhea County has gone a perfect 4-0 against McMinn County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Cherokees at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rhea County fell victim to East Ridge and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. While losing is never fun, Rhea County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while East Ridge are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, McMinn County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 5-1 to Howard Tech.

This is the second loss in a row for Rhea County and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for McMinn County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Rhea County came out on top in a nail-biter against McMinn County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
