The Lackey Chargers were the 48-41 winner over the McDonough Rams when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. Lackey fell just short of McDonough by a score of 42-39.
McDonough got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Garrison out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Cailyn Samuel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Lackey's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for McDonough, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Patuxent the next time they take the court. Lackey will host Patuxent at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while McDonough will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
