The Antelope Titans won the last time they faced the River Valley Falcons, and things went their way on Monday too. Antelope took down River Valley 68-49. Given Antelope's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while River Valley is ranked 734th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Juleean Alias was his usual excellent self, scoring four points along with 14 assists and seven steals. Another player making a difference was TeddyJay Duenas, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
River Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yuvraj Dosanjh, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Tayvione Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
The victory got Antelope back to even at 13-13. As for River Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.
Antelope will take on Roseville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Antelope knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Roseville likes a good challenge. As for River Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodcreek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodcreek is facing River Valley at the right time seeing as River Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
