After flying high against the Northbrook Raiders last Monday, the Westside Wolves came back down to earth. Westside was beaten by Bellaire 79-50 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Westside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Bellaire is ranked 203rd).
Bellaire was led to victory by Anthony Andrews and Shelton Henderson. Andrews scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Henderson scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Henderson has scored at least 25% of Bellaire's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Washington, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Westside's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Bellaire, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Westside will be home for the holidays to greet Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellaire, they will head out on the road to face off against Westbury at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westbury knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Bellaire likes a good challenge.
