North Mac is 2-0 against Greenville since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Mac Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Greenville Comets at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North Mac has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Greenville will arrive with eight straight victories.
North Mac's 8-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They lost to Staunton/Bunker Hill at home by a decisive 36-20 margin on Friday. North Mac gained 59 more yards on the day, but it was Staunton/Bunker Hill that made the best of use of them.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payne Mclean, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Vance, who threw for 200 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Greenville humbled Southwestern with a 48-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Greenville, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
North Mac has been struggling this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight contests, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season. As for Greenville, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
