Hammond Morton won the last time they faced Gary West Side and things went their way on Monday too. The Governors blew past the Cougars 22-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Governors.

Hammond Morton got a massive performance out of Juleeana Temores, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Temores has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Payten Bevill, who scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Hammond Morton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gary West Side, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond Morton will head out to square off against East Chicago Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gary West Side, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Whiting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
