The Stewartsville Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of DeKalb. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Luke Miller was on fire for DeKalb: he picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Hayden Black was another key contributor, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Stewartsville's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. As for DeKalb, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
Stewartsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. DeKalb will face off against Plattsburg at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Plattsburg's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
