Alyssa Setka was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Setka was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Port of Los Angeles got a massive performance out of Samantha Cordova, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Rochelle Watkins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Peninsula didn't have quite enough to beat Woodrow Wilson on Monday and fell 3-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
Peninsula saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Gonzalez, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Gonzalez brought in this season.
Peninsula's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Port of Los Angeles, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
