A big 26-point second quarter helped carry
Globe (Ariz.) to a 47-0 victory over Baboquivari (Sells, Ariz.) on Saturday.
The Tigers scored on a
Brodie Dallenogare touchdown run, a touchdown catch by
Lane Phillips, a touchdown run by
Dean Belarde and a Phillips touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, Globe led 33-0 at the half.
GHS expanded its lead to 47 points entering the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Dallenogare.
Globe's most effective player was Phillips. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
GHS went into the matchup giving up only 17.4 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Tigers came away with a 51-0 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for Globe, which lost to San Manuel last week, 21-10.
Globe (5-3) will play a IV Section II game against Safford next week, while Baboquivari (0-8) will take on Benson in a V Section III game.
