Meanwhile, Southington faced Platt in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Blue Knights had just enough and edged out the Panthers  5-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Blue Knights.
 Gabe Hinkson tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  Mark Zigmont was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 Southington's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-3. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Immaculate, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
