Baseball Recap: Fox Creek Snags 11th Win in Last 13 Games

Fox Creek won the last time they faced Silver Bluff and things went their way on Friday too. The Predators put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Predators, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cam Porter looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Fox Creek got a big performance out of Will Fountain, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Hank Greene was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Fox Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Silver Bluff, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Coming up, Fox Creek will head out to challenge Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Silver Bluff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Augusta at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
