The Dos Palos Broncos suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 61-41 defeat to Mendota might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dos Palos in their matchups with Mendota: they've now lost five in a row.
Dos Palos' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sixto Ibarra, who scored eight points. Andrew SanRoman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Dos Palos' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Mendota, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dos Palos will take on Coalinga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Coalinga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Dos Palos likes a good challenge. As for Mendota, they will head out on the road to take on Avenal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
