Gladewater extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-14. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tatum Eagles. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Alayah Gordon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Gordon was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples and one run. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Caydence Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Lilia Sanchez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Tatum, their record now sits at 3-12-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Like Gladewater, Tatum also got a great game from a two-way player: Noa Cart. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts Cart has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kumora Chatman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Alex Tovar, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
While Gladewater had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
