Softball Recap: Mt. Baker Has No Trouble Against Cashmere

Mt. Baker won the last time they faced Cashmere and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 18-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Mt. Baker is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Cashmere, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Mt. Baker will welcome Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.57 runs per game on average), something the Mountaineers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cashmere, they will venture away from home to challenge Kittitas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Coyotes have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
