The Valders Vikings will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Appleton West Terrors at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Valders will be strutting in after a victory while Appleton West will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Valders was able to grind out a solid win over Reedsville, taking the game 59-49. Given Valders' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Reedsville is ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Appleton West's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Kaukauna 90-34.
Valders pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Appleton West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
