On the hitting side, Morgan Wilcheck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Clover Hill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Monacan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Monacan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clover Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. It's a different story for Monacan, though, as they've only averaged .169. Will they be able to contain Clover Hill's hitters?
Clover Hill took their victory against Monacan in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
