Richard Montgomery is a perfect 4-0 against Springbrook since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Rockets will head out to square off against the Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. Richard Montgomery knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Springbrook likes a good challenge.
Richard Montgomery proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Einstein 10-9. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.
Jaylen Garcia was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Reich, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Richard Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Springbrook hadn't done well against Seneca Valley recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Screaming Eagles 5-3.
James Reiner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Springbrook: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Reiner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
Reiner wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Desmond Hines, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two hits gave Hines a new career-high.
Richard Montgomery's record is now 5-10-1. As for Springbrook, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 6-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Richard Montgomery has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Springbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Richard Montgomery got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Springbrook by a conclusive 30-1 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
