The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Thursday Grapevine takes on Young Men's Leadership Academy in the first playoff game of the year. Young Men's Leadership Academy will want to keep Grapevine's offense in check as it has had no trouble moving up and down the field in its last nine games.
Grapevine kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It came out on top against Birdville last week with a 42 - 32 win. Junior Roshawn Prear continued his outstanding stretch of play as he rushed for 108 yards in the victory, marking his 4th consecutive game with over 100 yards rushing. Prear has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past ten consecutive games. Another highlight for the team was the 402 passing yards from senior Alan Bowman.
Meanwhile, Young Men's Leadership Academy was crushed by Arlington Heights 36 - 6 last week. Young Men's Leadership Academy unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 38-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
Young Men's Leadership Academy's defeat dropped it to 4-6 while Grapevine's win brought it to 8-2. We'll see if Grapevine can add another positive mark to its record or if Young Men's Leadership Academy can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Grapevine's step.
