The Longmont Trojans won the last time they faced the Bear Creek Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Longmont managed a 38-34 win over Bear Creek.
Longmont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stella Rulon out in front who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Kaila Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bear Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olivia Kan. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Kan scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarai Jallow, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Longmont is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Bear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longmont and Thomas Jefferson will face off at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. Bear Creek and Evergreen will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Evergreen is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
