They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oceanside Collegiate Academy. If Orangeburg-Wilkinson hoped to take revenge for the 69-50 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Orangeburg-Wilkinson had strong showings from Keith Smith, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, and Jeremiah Jacques, who scored 18 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Smith pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladontis Franklin, who scored six points.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson will be playing in front of their home fans against Swansea at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Swansea is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop England at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
