Softball Recap: Mohave Has No Trouble Against Mingus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sunnyslope, Mohave was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Mingus Marauders with a sharp 15-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Rilynn Bragg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off one hit. Bragg was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaydence Farnham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Selena Belloso, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mohave kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mohave has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Mingus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Mohave has already played their next match (against Santa Cruz Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mingus, they have also already played their next game, an 11-3 victory against Anthem Prep on the 19th.
