Allen East is 1-8 against Crestview since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Allen East Mustangs will take on the Crestview Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Allen East sitting on four straight victories and Crestview on 13.
Allen East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lincolnview with a sharp 61-35 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Allen East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rilynn Jones, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The contest was Jones' seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Lehman, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 19 points.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Crestview on Saturday. They blew past Jefferson 51-31. The Knights are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the ninth match they've won by 20+ points this season.
Allen East better keep an eye on Ellie Kline. She was instrumental in Crestview's win, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 12 assists. Kline is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last seven games she's played. Kaci Gregory was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 10 points and three steals.
Crestview pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Allen East, their record is now 19-4.
Thursday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jones and Kline. Jones has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 21.7 points, 3.4 steals, and 5 rebounds. For her part, Kline has averaged 18.3 points, 2.6 steals, and 5 assists while shooting 40.5% from the three point line.
Allen East came up short against Crestview when the teams last played back in January, falling 69-65. Can Allen East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
