The Argenta-Oreana Bombers fell victim to the Cumberland Pirates''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, Argenta-Oreana couldn't push the score so high this time.
Leading Cumberland to victory were Braydon Olmstead and Blake Mcmechan. Olmstead threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, while Mcmechan gained 130 total yards and three touchdowns.
Cumberland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Isaac Venatta and his two sacks.
Argenta-Oreana now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Cumberland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Argenta-Oreana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cumberland will head out on the road to face off against Casey-Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Casey-Westfield will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
