Medicine Lodge Gets a Boost from Ruiz in 33-26 Defeat
Medicine Lodge had to settle for second on Friday, but Keveon Ruiz sure wasn't going down easily. Ruiz turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 71 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 129 yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles and defended two passes.
For the year, Ruiz has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 173 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had five passing touchdowns.

Seth Dugan Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Garden Plain got the W thanks in part to Seth Dugan playing the best football he has all season. Dugan rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023.
Garden Plain now has a winning record of 3-2. It'll be Battle of the Birds when Owls takes on Kingman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
