The McDowell Titans will head out to face off against the Asheville Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McDowell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, McDowell came up short against Enka and fell 7-2.

McDowell saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Jay'Ron Moore also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Asheville was able to grind out a solid win over North Buncombe on Friday, taking the game 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Black Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Asheville pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for McDowell, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

McDowell suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Asheville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
