Normal West has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Normal West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Saturday.
On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Normal West in a 56-37 win over Naperville Central.
It was another big night for Nate Moore, who scored 27 points along with four steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mike Zaleski, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 62-17 defeat at the hands of Lincoln. Having soared to a lofty 66 points in the game before, Mahomet-Seymour couldn't push the score so high this time.
Normal West's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Normal West was able to grind out a solid victory over Mahomet-Seymour in their previous meeting back in January, winning 60-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Normal West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
