In what's become a running theme this season, Simsboro gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 74-29 win over Downsville. Given Simsboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Downsville is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Castor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell to Weston 52-48.
Simsboro is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-12 record this season. As for Castor, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.
Everything came up roses for Simsboro against Castor in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 as the squad secured a 80-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simsboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
