The Joplin Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Willard Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Willard took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Joplin, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Joplin was fully in charge, breezing past Neosho 59-28 at home. The win was just what Joplin needed coming off of a 72-43 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Willard pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 83-69 to Webb City. Willard's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Joplin's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18. As for Willard, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Joplin couldn't quite finish off Willard when the teams last played back in January and fell 44-41. Can Joplin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
